Thank you for cooperation to keep our swimmers, families, coaches, volunteers and facility staff safe. We have limited the number of swimmers in each practice group to ensure social distancing both in and out of the water.
Governor's EO 34 (effective March 10, 2021): Cruzers will continue following CDC protocols and our team protocols, below. We will continue requiring masks and social distancing at practices and swim meets.
Protocols for swimmers who have been exposed to a positive Covid-19 patient should follow the guidelines below. Swimmers who have been quarantined by another organization or school should not come to swim practices or events until the quarantine period elapses.
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has aligned with CDC’s recommendation late last week and today, Austin Public Health (APH) announced it will follow the CDC’s guidelines and added the quarantine length will be determined based on exposure risk.
LCCC Cruzers will follow CDC’s and APH’s new guidance, which potentially shortens the quarantine time for those who have had contact with a COVID-19 positive individual.
- If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 and were not wearing a mask OR you live with or work in a setting with people who are at high risk for severe disease, you should quarantine the full 14 days.
- If you were exposed to someone with COVID-19 and were wearing a mask and do not live with or work in a setting with people who are at high risk for severe disease, you may return to swim practices and activities:
- after Day 10 following close contact exposure without testing or
- after Day 7 following close contact exposure and after receiving a negative test result (administered at least 5 days after the last close contact).
APH has provided a flowchart to show the above quarantine guidance.
