We expect swimming to be rewarding and fun for all our participants.
USA Swimming requires member clubs implement the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy 2.0 (MAAPP 2.0) effective as of September 1st, 2021. This Policy addresses risk areas that present opportunities for abuse to occur.
MAAPP 2.0 covers six (6) areas:
1. One-on-One Interactions
2. Meetings and Individual Training Sessions
3. Electronic Communications
4. In-Program Transportation and Lodging
5. Locker Rooms and Changing Areas
6. Massages, Rubdowns, and Athletic Training Modalities
USA Swimming Zones, LSCs and member clubs are required to implement this Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy in full. The Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy must be reviewed and agreed to in writing by all athletes, parents/legal guardians, coaches and other non-athlete members of member clubs on an annual basis with such written agreement to be retained by the club or LSC, as applicable.
