Swim Groups
Evaluation of your child will be made at the first couple of practices to determine which group would best suit him/her. The criteria used in making this determination is as follows:
1. Skill Level
2. Knowledge
3. Age
 
From there, constant evaluation is being made and a swimmer can be moved into the next group when they are ready. General group descriptions are listed below. 
 
 
TRAINING GROUPS
 

MINNOW GROUP is our non-competitive swimmers who are focusing on the backstroke and freestyle. Increasing strength and confidence in the pool while introducting butterfly & breaststroke skills is the focus.  

BRONZE GROUP is for the beginning club swimmer that has an idea of what freestyle and backstroke is. This group will learn how to do freestyle and backstroke well, while learning breaststroke and butterfly along with the rules of competitive swimming for all strokes. Flip turns will also be introduced. Most 5-8 year old swimmers will be in this group. Practices are 3 times/week for 45 minutes.
 
WHITE GROUP will consist of entry level swimmers through those that have the ability to swim all four strokes but still need stroke knowledge and understanding. This group’s focus will be on developing stroke technique, but endurance in the pool will be enhanced in the process. Ages of the swimmers in this group are 8-11. Practices will be 3 or 4 times/week for 1 to 1 ½  hour.
 
SILVER GROUP is for swimmers who know all four competitive strokes. Development of competitive stroke techniques will be enhanced as well as practice skills with interval training and overall endurance. Most will have competitive swimming experience and will learn to set goals. Focus is on developing a love of the sport by making competition fun. Practices are 4 or 5 times per week for 1-1 ½ hours.  
 
BLUE GROUP is for late elementary or middle school swimmers that have a fairly good endurance base and primary knowledge of proper technique for all four competitive strokes. The focus of this group will be to expand basic stroke knowledge and apply competitive technique to racing. Swimmers are expected to follow intervals, have goals, and to accept and apply stroke critiquing diligently. Practices are 4-6 days per week for 1½ - 1¾ hours each practice.
 
GOLD Group       swimmers with a good knowledge of technique with mastery as the focus. Good attitude and discipline is expected. Main concentration will be placed on strength training and race planning for well-rounded swimmers with an emphasis on goals of state level and beyond. Some middle school and most all high school swimmers will participate at this level. Practices are 5-6 days/week with each practice lasting 2-2½ hours.
 
GOLD/BLACK  GROU  PS    will have swimmers with a good knowledge of technique with mastery as the focus. Good attitude and discipline is expected. Main concentration will be placed on strength training and race planning for well-rounded swimmers with an emphasis on goals of state level and beyond. Some middle school and all high school swimmers will participate at this level. Practices are 5-6 days/week with each practice lasting 2-2½ hours.
