Who We Are….  Emmaus Aquatic Club (EMAC) is a competitive swimming club that offers a variety of programs for virtually all levels of swimming.  Created in 1982, EMAC has produced some of the finest competitive swimmers in the region and has taught literally thousands of children to swim.

Where We Are….  EMAC’s facility is located in Lower Macungie Township, just outside of Emmaus, PA.  The EMAC facility is a summer-only facility and is open mid May through late September.  During the Fall, Winter and Spring, EMAC utilizes pools at the Emmaus High School and offers a Learn to Swim lesson program (Swim America) at the Steel Fitness Premier Center located in the Integrated Health Campus.

Sessions…  Our Competitive Year begins in September.  We divide the year into 4 Sessions:  Fall,  Winter, Spring & Summer (Long Course) and space permitting, will accept new registrations each session.  Those who join in the fall have priority registration for the following session.  Once practice groups are full we begin a waitlist for the year.

The Training Groups….  There are currently seven different training groups that EMAC offers. Swimmers are placed into groups by the coaching staff based on ability, motivation and mental maturity. Please keep in mind that the EMAC Coaching Staff will make the final determination in regards to the appropriate training group for any swimmer. There are no automatic promotions because of reaching a certain age or grade in school.

The groups are as follows:

  1. Skills – (approx. 7-11 years old) Our skills group houses all of our swimmers age 10&U.  The practices are technique-oriented and differentiated to account for all ability levels within the group.

  2. Junior – (approx. 11-13) Our Junior group is for swimmers age 11-13.  Here the swimmers have a heavy dose of technique refinement and we begin supplementing the technique work with training.  Our training differs than most, however, in that we build endurance around the swimmer's highest level of technical efficiency.  We do not build empty endurance with poor technique for the sake of saying we swim a lot.

  3. Senior Select/ Senior – (approx 13 years and older)- This training group is for High School Aged swimmers who have the commitment necessary to help our team strive for ever-increasing levels of performance.  We combine the cutting-edge technique development with cutting edge training modalities to bring about the form and conditioning adaptations that serve as the foundation of our swimmer's performance abilities.
