Smoky Hill Sharks - Head Swim Coach
The Smoky Hill Sharks Swim Team is seeking an energetic and team-driven Head Swim Coach to lead our summer league team. We are dedicated to having fun over the summer, while still challenging ourselves to grow. It is the mission of the Smoky Hill Sharks to provide an opportunity for young people to develop swimming skills and positive competitive swimming experience. The team is eager to welcome a new Head Coach who will work closely with the board of directors to fulfill, and improve upon, our mission.
It will be the responsibility of the Head Coach to ensure all scheduled practices and meets are planned, staffed, and conducted in an organized professional manner while instilling and modeling life values and skills our swimmer can use both in and out of the pool with an emphasis on excellence, goal setting, development, support, and teamwork.
The Head Swim Coach will be responsible for developing a plan for practice, training, and competitions held throughout the summer swim season. As described in the calendar below, the Head Coach must commit to attending/staffing all practices (AM and PM) and meets from the pre-season through the All-Star meeting (May17-July 24, 2021).
This individual is responsible for procuring and directing all coaching staff (1-2 assistant coaches, 2-3 swimmer coaches), including conducting weekly staff meetings focused on scheduling issues/changes, practice plans for the week, and all swim meet obligations. This individual will be required to attend all Mountain Hi Swim League coach meetings, plus enforce safety and code of conduct requirements set by the league and the club.
Further description and explanation of duties and responsibilities will be discussed on a one-on-one basis. The main goal for the Head Swim Coach is to provide all swimmers with an opportunity to master their swimming techniques, carry our competitive swim team program forward, and to ensure all participants are having FUN.
