Typical ages in Age Group II range from 6-10 years old. Practices are held three days per week for 1 1/2 hours.
11-12 year-old Training Group
This is the second level of our Age Group program. The focus will remain on fundamentals, technique, improving endurance and preparing the swimmers for Junior level swimming. Additional training techniques will be introduced and the dry-land program will be expanded. Typical ages in Age Group III range from 9-14 years old. Practices are held four times per week for 1 1/2 hours.
13-14 year-old Training Group
Our Junior Group begins the preparatory phase to Senior level swimming and is for those swimmers who are making a more serious commitment to swimming at the club or high school level. While technique will continue to be stressed, it will be done within the structure of increased training. Additional meet opportunities will be provided to introduce swimmers to higher levels of competition. Twice per day practices will be introduced. Typical ages in our Junior group are 13 years and older. Practices will be held five days per week for a total practice time of 13 hours.
Swimmers in this group have decided that they wish to participate at the highest levels within the sport of swimming (Sectionals, Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals, Olympic Trials) and are willing to commit the time and work required to achieve those goals. Swimmers will be placed in this group only upon the request of the swimmer and after a meeting with the coaching staff, swimmer and parents. Practices are held six days per week. Double practices are required. Total weekly practice time of 18 hours.
