Hi Seahawks Swimmers & Parents!
While all of us navigate life under the threat of the COVID-19 virus, we have received a number of inquiries about the status of the 2020 summer swim team season.
We received the below communication from the Mile Hi Swim League Board this week, that due to the current situation, the 2020 season must be cancelled.
We share in your disappointment, but are already planning other swimming programs for your families. We are closely monitoring everything that we can, including federal, state and local government guidance.
We have always made the health and safety of our swimming families & staff our #1 priority. This will continue to be our focus in the decisions made in the coming days and weeks. As soon as our path forward becomes clearer, be assured, we will communicate with everyone via email, team unify and the HRCA website. Stay tuned.....
In the meantime, visit our new Coached Aquatic HRCA at Home Page and follow us on Twitter @hrseahawks to stay informed and interactive in the coming weeks. Also please continue to monitor HRCA COVID-19 online.
With your understanding and patience we will get through the uncertain days and weeks ahead. We hope that you and your loved ones remain healthy until we can see you on the pool deck.
Your HRCA Swim Team
Thanks for participating in one of the most successful summer swim programs in Colorado!
The Highlands Ranch Seahawks Swim Team is HRCA's competitive summer club team in the Mountain High Swim League. It is highly recommended that new/returning swimmers participate in one of our year-round coached programs or on another competitive team prior to registration. Once swimmers are on the team they will be divided into practice groups. The first two weeks of practice will be used to assess which group is appropriate for each swimmer. The Head Coach will distribute the practice group assignments on May 22th, 2020. The practice groups will start being enforced on May 26th, 2020.
SEAHAWKS SWIM TEAM GENERAL INFORMATION
- About the Seahawks
The Seahawks team is our competitive summer swim team, designed for those swimmers who desire a competitive experience while still developing their swimming skills. Ultimately, the choice to join the team should be based on swimmer’s desire and family support. Coaches will recommend and assign practice groups before regular season begins. Any questions on placement should be directed towards the Head Coach.
- Minimum Requirements
In order to be on the Seahawks team, swimmers need to be able to swim a minimum 50 yards freestyle with side-breathing, 50 yards backstroke, and have experience with flip turns and starts. All new swimmers to the team will need to try-out prior to registering unless they have been given an exempt pass by participating in our Juniors, Seniors, or Elites programs in 2020.
- Registration Fees
The activity fee for the season is $315 for members and $370 for guests to HRCA. This price applies for a family with one swimmer registering. If a family has multiple swimmers, the price for each swimmer, after the first, is 5% off each additional swimmer in the family. There is also a $12 league fee per swimmer, which is included in the registration cost. Full payment is due at the time of registration. Credit cards are accepted for your convenience. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis according to HRCA standard policies and procedure. If a full refund is warranted, a nominal service fee will be retained to cover administrative costs.
Getting information to the families of about 315 swimmers presents quite a challenge. We will use several methods to get information to you:
- The parent information packet - available on the "Registration tab".
- The Seahawks TeamUnify website. This website contains the team calendar, the coaches’ email addresses, the practice group descriptions, and pool locations for our away meets. Information is updated frequently so please check it often! You should bookmark this website for quick access.
- Mass or “blast” emails from both the Head Coach and the Parent Volunteer Coordinators. If you are not receiving these emails within the first week of practice, please contact the Head Coach immediately!! This will be the most common form of communication since it is the best way to provide you with updated information quickly and frequently. Please provide us with an email address that you check often!
