The Des Moines Swimming Federation offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Des Moines Swimming Federation to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of THEIR abilities.

No-Obligation Trial Period:

Prospective athletes can sign up for a two-week, no obligation trial to get a feel for our program, subject to group availability. Exception is Super Group, which is only entitled to 2 days of no-obligation trial.

USA Registration: All swim team participants are required to be registered with USA Swimming. A fee of $74.00 will be added at time of registration which covers the annual USA Registration fee.

First Payment: Upon completing the online registration for your swimmer you will be charged either the lump sum fee or the first monthly fee. If you register in August for an annual or short course monthly fee your August payment will actually represent September's monthly fee, and you will not be charged another monthly fee until October. If you register in March for a long course monthly fee your March payment will actually represent your April's monthly fee, and you will not be charged another monthly fee until May.

Seasons:
1. Annual registrations are for a 12 month calendar from September through August for all groups. The annual commitment is spread over 12 months for payments vs. the 10 months that DMSF holds swim practice. Monthly payments for annual members are lower because the charges are for 12 months rather than 10 months. Lump sum payments are less than 12 monthly payments due to monthly processing fees.

2. The Annual registration option is available in August & September only and is either a lump sum or monthly payment. Annual swimmers commit to swim with DMSF from September through August. Refunds are not given for swimmers that voluntarily leave the team before the 12 month commitment is satisfied. If an injury occurs the Extended Leave Policy applies.

3. Short Course Season is September through February (6 months) for all groups.

4. Long Course Season is April through July (4 months) for all groups.

5. Payment for the Short and Long Course Seasons is a lump sum payment or monthly payments. The lump sum payment is available in August/September or March/April.  Refunds are not given if paying by lump sum unless an injury occurs and the Extended Leave Policy applies.  We realize that some swimmers are not able to join the team in September for short course or April for long course. Swimmers may join any month during the short and/or long course season as their schedules allow. The swimmers monthly fees will begin the month they join the team.

This group will not be able to participate in the 2-week noobligation trial; however, if after 2 practices there is a mutual agreement it is not the right fit for the swimmer, either a refund will be given for the remaining dates missed or the amount paid will be applied towards moving the swimmer to Bronze.
