SILVER

Developing Competitors

  • NEW Practice Times: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:30-6:45. SATURDAY 9-10am

 

 

 

 

 Swimmers in this group are striving to improve from Hawaiian B to Hawaiian AAA times. Workouts are designed for swimmers, who want to improve their swimming technique and competition skills. Workouts range from 1,500 to 2,500 yards/session. Swimmers will learn in supportive environment that has fun, develops confidence in oneself and working with teammates, encourages participation & sportsmanship, developing a positive work ethic with appropriately challenging training sessions. It is recommended that swimmers attend practice as often as possible but no less than twice a week.

 

Junior Group

Experienced Middle/HIgh School Swimmers

Positions In Group Available:  

  • Lead Coach: Sylvia Ravaglia, Certified USA Swimming and ASCA Level I

  • Spring/Summer Season: January 15 through July 12th  (24 week season)

  • Day/Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:15-6:45pm

  • Fees: (26 week season)  $780 + Admin Charge $25 =$805 total

    • USA Swimming 2018 Registration: $73 *Swimmers who are not registered for USA Swimming (for 2018 will need complete a USA Swimming Membership form and pay an additional $73 (payable to HPA if paying by check) for their USA Swimming Membership. This membership will be valid until December 31, 2018.

  • Meet/Competition Fees: $2 for each event entered for on-island meets / off-island cost varies.

Who is this group for: Swimmers in this group must 11+, skill level and maturity and a recommendation from the coach. Workouts are designed for swimmers who have demonstrating competency in all four strokes, can demonstrate a strong work ethic with the desire to improve their ability to perform. Emphasis is on racing skills (starts, turns and finishes) along with proper stroke development and strong endurance training sets.  Stretching and strength training exercises may be included as appropriate and training sessions ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 yards. Swimmers will learn in supportive environment that has fun, develops confidence in oneself and working with teammates, encourages participation & sportsmanship, developing a positive work ethic with appropriately challenging training sessions. It is recommended that swimmers attend practice as often as possible but no less than twice  a week.

 

Gold Group

Experienced Competitors

  • Lead Coach: Harry Canales, Certified USA Swimming and ASCA Level IV

  • Spring/Summer January 15-July 12

  • Day/Time: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:15-6:45pm

Who is this group for: Swimmers in this group must be of appropriate age, skill level and maturity and a recommendation from the coach. Swimmers who have or are striving for A thru AAA times are typically placed into this group. Workouts are designed for swimmers who have competed in competitions, can demonstrate a strong work ethic with the desire to improve their ability to perform. Stretching and strength training exercises may be included as appropriate and training sessions ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 yards. Swimmers will learn in supportive environment that has fun, develops confidence in oneself and working with teammates, encourages participation & sportsmanship, developing a positive work ethic with appropriately challenging training sessions. It is recommended that swimmers attend practice as often as possible but no less than twice a week.

SENIOR GROUP

  • Lead Coach: Mark Noetzel, Certified USA Swimming and ASCA Level IV.
  • Spring/Summer January 15-July 12
  • Practices

Who is this group for: Swimmers in this group must be of appropriate age, skill level and maturity and a recommendation from the coach.  Swimmer The typical age is 12 and above though there may be some younger swimmers allowed with proven ability at the state championships level. Swimmers MUST be striving to reach their best which includes Hawaiian AAA (State Qualifying), Zone, Sectional, Jr. & Senior National levels.  Workouts are designed for swimmers who are preparing for competitions and enjoy challenges and working with others. Stretching and strength training exercises may be included as appropriate and training sessions ranging from 3500-6000 yards. Swimmers will learn in supportive environment that has fun, develops confidence in oneself and working with teammates, encourages participation & sportsmanship, developing a positive work ethic with appropriately challenging training sessions. It is recommended that swimmers attend practice at a minimum of 3 sessions a week.
