MIKE WILL BE WORKING WITH OUR SENIOR & NATIONAL LEVEL SWIMMERS STARTING JANUARY 30TH 2012
SENIORS WILL TRAIN WITH HIM 3 DAYS A WEEK M-W-F 5:30 pm -6:00 pm
NATIONALS WILL TRAIN WITH HIM 3 DAYS A WEEK M-W-F 7:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Michael Columbano has obtained a bachelors degree in physical education and has previously trained our athletes while Mr. Kropp was Head Coach.
Michael’s Philosophy – Strength and conditioning goals are to maximize each athlete's potential, minimize injuries and build a well-conditioned athlete that can compete at the highest level. My goal is to work with each athlete to develop a sport specific program using the latest scientific research in the field of strength and conditioning training. Special emphasis will be put on the athlete’s, flexibility, power, speed and endurance. All phases of conditioning will be monitored throughout the swimming season for improvement. I believe that if an athlete improves in each of these areas then their swimming performance will increase and the risk of injury will decrease significantly. As a trainer and coach my job is to make each swimmer a better all around athlete, which includes desire, determination and dedication.
Improvement starts with motivation and ends with accomplishment. I am confident that with my knowledge and guidance I can help each athlete push themselves far beyond their expectations.
