The term "Masters" sounds daunting, but in swimming it simply refers to any swimmer over the age of 18. Houston Cougar Masters, a U.S. Masters Swimming registered club, is a diverse group of fitness swimmers, competitive swimmers, and triathletes, ranging in age from 18 to 94. Coach Greg Orphanides and Coach Clay offer challenging workouts and expertise in stroke technique tailored to each swimmer's abilities and goals. Come swim with us! All ability levels are welcome.
All participants must be registered with U.S. Masters Swimming (USMS), through their website (Do not try to register through the coog registration tab). Select "gulf" as the LMSC and then Houston Cougar Masters as your team. There are lots of benefits as a USMS member, including a bi-monthly magazine, a monthly e-newsletter, access to swim workouts, and a personal training log. The training log is one of the best benefits as it allows you to track your swim, bike, run, spinning, and weight workouts on-line.
