2018 Montana Swimming Officials Meeting: Saturday October 6 at the Butte YMCA. Time to be announced. At this meeting we will vote for a new officials chair as the current chair's term will be over. The meeting will be followed by a short all YMCA swim meet that the officials are asked to stay and help officiate. The meet is fro Missoula, Butte, and Billings YMCA swim teams only.

2017 MT Swim Officials Awards
Phil Dolan, a referee from the Helena Lions Swim Team, was selected to receive the Montana Swimming Excellence e in Officiating Award by the officials when they met on September 30, 2017. Phil is an outstanding official having served many years on the deck for both age group and high school swimming. He recently completed his referee training and attended the USA Swimming New Referees Clinic in Denver. Phil's dedication and service was recognized by his fellow officials as they selected him to receive their top award for the year. Phil's award was announced during the referee's clinic in Denver surprising him with the news. The announcement and his photo were posted on Instagram and Facebook where he joined the ranks of #OfficiallyAwesome!
Darrell Bauman, a stroke and turn official with the Peak Waves Swim Team in Great Falls, was selected to receive the Mark Hallgrimson Award which recognizes an outstanding stroke and turn official in Montana Swimming. Darrell can be found on the deck at age group meets and high school meets across the state giving generously of his time and talents to make swimming better for the athletes.

Application for Club or Individual to receive reimbursement for fees paid to become a MT Swimming Official.
Note: Official must work at 5 meets per year to qualify for MT Swimming reimbursement. Mt Swimming will reimburse the club or individual for registration fees paid and for background check fees paid for officials meeting these requirements. The application must be submitted by August 31.

This document is required for all Championships meets held and sanctioned in the state of Montana. This includes both State meets (Long Course & Short Course), the BC Championship, and any Senior Championship meets held here.

Applications for Nationals and Junior Nationals
Applications for the 2018 winter national meets are now posted at https://www.usaswimming.org/utility/landing-pages/officials/national-meet-officiating-applications. They will stay open until at least July 28 (Nationals) and Aug 5 (Juniors). If enough applications to sufficiently staff the meets are received by those dates, then the application will close on those dates.
