WOLFPACK SWIM SCHOOL
PROGRAM UPDATE as of August 3, 2020
Hello Wolfpack Swim School,
What an interesting week last week turned out to be for youth sports in Illinois. Governor Pritzker released his plan for youth sports which will take effect on August 15 - click here. Additionally, the IHSA is moving ahead with 4 sports for the fall, one of which is girls swimming and diving. Unfortunately, UIC has delayed their return to facility date for rentals until September 7, which sadly means the Wolfpack will not be returning to the water this month as we originally thought. Our head coach continues to be in communication with the UIC-PEB Facility Director and Aquatics Direction as well as the university's Athletic Director.
The lesson program has submitted our initial “Return to Water Safety Plan” to UIC asking for feedback. Please keep in mind this is the initial proposal and does not take into account any of the changes the University could make. Our main goal is to link numbers and ensure safety of participants and staff, along with those we come in contact with while at UIC-PEB. The program also has received our PPE gear and will be ready to go for when we can return: face shields, thermometers, disposable masks, hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and plastic storage crates.

Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate this crazy time. As a parent I share your frustration and eagerness for “normal” again, but as a nursing student and business owner, I appreciate the safety precautions to ensure ongoing improvement for public health and safety for our swimmers.
Stay safe and well Pack!
Safe Sport Recognition
CWAC is looking to be certified as a Safe Sport Program. We have created a Safe Sport page and the final step for certification is for the swimmers and parents to complete an online course. Education is one of the most important tools for combating misconduct. While our lesson swimmers are too young to complete the training, parents, this would be a great opportunity to learn a bit more about the world of swimming and how after some pretty scary incidents came to light, USA Swimming dove head first into making changes and improvements to ensure athlete safety.

Welcome to the
Wolfpack Swim School
We are not your average lesson program! Does your swimmer have goals of swimming competitively with a USA Club Swim Team? This program will help get them there.
The Wolfpack Swim School is designed like no other program your swimmer has been in. Our goal is to develop sound swimmers who, at the end of the program, are prepared to be accepted to a highly competitive club swim team. Our curriculum begins with the basics and slowly builds with each level. Breaking down the stroke into focus areas over a couple levels allows swimmers to learn and develop at their own speed. Level placement is not based on age, but on skill. Our knowledgeable instructors are competitive swimmers who have the personal experiences to help prepare your swimmer from a future in this great sport.
