Swim Groups

Waterworks Swim Club offers 3 training groups for swimmers of all ages.  It is the goal of WWSC to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each swimmer to the best of THEIR abilities.

 

Bronze:  Bronze is our beginner entry level ability group, great for new or younger swimmers. Our focus is stroke technique and team unity. Swimmers must be able to swim a length of each stroke without stopping and be
mostly legal (having accomplished Family Fitness Works Stroke School is recommended).
Usually they are 10 and under unless they are a beginner. $49.00 monthly fee; multi-child discounts available.

  • Must be able to legally swim Freestyle and Backstroke 25 yards (1 length of the pool) and swim in deep water
  • Should have some familiarity with Butterfly and Breaststroke (if not, please consider our Stroke School Swim Lesson program!)
  • Must listen to the coaches and swim for the entire session
  • Focus at this level will be on stroke technique for all 4 strokes, broken down, and in shorter distances
  • Swimmers will be taught racing starts, turns and relay exchanges
  • Meet participation is encouraged

Silver: Silver is our intermediate ability group, for upper elementary students and Jr. High School students. Perfecting strokes and conditioning are a major focus for this group.  Dryland training at the beginning of practice become more of a focus.  $59.00 monthly fee; multi-child discounts available. 

  • Must know the four competitive strokes, starts, and turns
  • Must be able to swim 100 yds of each stroke using appropriate turns
  • Swimmers are encouraged to swim each meet
  • Swimmers need to know how to read a pace clock
  • Focus at this level will be on perfecting all strokes, turns, starts, relay exchanges and conditioning
  • Summer dryland practice is highly recommended

Gold:  Gold is our top ability group.  This high-performance group mainly consists of High School and Jr. High students. The focus of this group consists of strength training, perfecting strokes, starts, and turns, as well as conditioning.  $69.00 monthly fee; multi-child discounts available. 
 
  • Members of this group are the Team Leaders.  They are expected to encourage and support younger swimmers and each other through team unity
  • Swimmers are expected to swim each meet
  • Must know all four competitive strokes, starts, turns and relay fundamentals
  • Swimmers need to know how to read a pace clock
  • Focus at this level will be on stroke techniques, endurance, and strength conditioning
  • Dryland training is extremely recommended
