Goldfins Progression Pathway
Based on Long Term Athlete Development
The Goldfins provide a variety of paths that an Athlete can take on their way to Senior level swimming. An athlete’s path will be based on a variety of factors – including age, ability, commitment and desire. Having multiple development paths ensures athletes are progressing appropriately, giving them the best chance at long term success.
From Intro athletes will progress into Development
From development athletes will progress into AG1 if they are 12 or younger and into AGD if they are 13 or older.
From AG1 athletes will progress into AG2 if they are 12 or younger and have developed the appropriate skills.
From AG2 athletes will move into Prov Sr or into AGP. In order to move into AGP athletes must develop the necessary skills and commitment for High Performance Swimming.
From Prov Sr athletes who wish to pursue High Performance Swimming can move in AGP if they have developed the necessary skills and shown the necessary commitment.
From AGP athletes will move into Prov Sr or Senior Performance. In order to move into Senior Performance athletes must develop the necessary skills and commitment for High Performance Swimming.
This is the top group of the club. From SP athletes will progress onto University Swim Teams.
