Merrillville Marlins Coaches
Jeremy Boyer is the head coach for the Merrillville Marlins. He started swimming when he was three. He has been in and around pools his whole life. He began swimming competitively when he was six. By the time he was seven, he helped his mom train young lifeguards by acting out drowning scenarios for them. He began assistant coaching when he was in the seventh grade as a volunteer but was an official coach by his freshman year of high school. He dove for Crown Point High School and also participated in swim relays. He is a lifeguard instructor , and an Art Therapist for Adults with Developmental Disabilities.
Coach Hailey is a graduate of Merrillville High School, where she began age group swimming at age 9. She continued through High School for a total of 10 years. In high school she specialized in breaststroke and IM, as well as distance freestyle. She has been teaching lessons and coaching since her sophomore year of high school, this is her fourth season with the Marlins. During the summer she is a lifeguard at Ross Township Parks. She currently attends Purdue University Calumet and is studying Psychology with a focus in human services. When she is not studying or swimming Hailey works on the board of directors for a local animal rescue, Second Chance 4 Pets Network.
