Head Coach                         Tony Sunseri

A native of Pittsburgh, Tony has decades of exposure to swimming, and entering is 4th year as Head Coach of WHY.  As an age group swimmer, he competed as a member of a number of U.S. Swimming, Eastern Zone All Star teams, for the Allegheny Mountain Swimming LSC and was a U.S. Swimming Junior National qualifier.  In high school, Tony was a W.P.I.A.L. Champion and Pennsylvania All-State Swimmer.

Tony competed at the collegiate level as a scholarship athlete for the University of Pittsburgh from 1992 through 1996 and named to the Scholar-Athlete All-Academic Team.  While at the University of Pittsburgh he served as the Men's team captain, was a member of the conference winning Big East Championship team, and qualified and competed in the U.S. Open for the University of Pittsburgh.

Rick Riedel

This is Coach Rick's 19th season with WHY Club as a coach.  He coached the Linsly HS team for 3 years. He swam for Wheeling Park, the WHY swim team, Marshall and Pitt. Rick was also a YMCA National qualifier.He graduated from Fairmont State.  Rick’s other life keeps him near water. As a Physical Therapy Assistant at Wheeling Hospital, he works in Aquatic Therapy!

 

 



Assistant Coach
 Jeani Humpe

Jeani Humpe is beginning her 17th year as an assistant coach. She is in charge of our younger swimmers. Jeani is also head coach for the Belmont County Summer Swim League and for Wheeling Central Catholic High School.  

 

 

 

 

Assistant Coach Daniel Millhouse

Daniel Millhouse is in his 7th year as part of the coaching staff with WHY. Dan is a past swimmer for the Wheeling YMCA from 1988 until 1995, qualifying for Great Lake Zone Invitational on several occasions.  Dan then went to swim at Mount Union College, earning all conference honors in the 100 and 200 butterfly.  He was also part of the first Mount Union swim team to win the Ohio Athletic Conference overall title.  Dan's life away from swimming is recreation coordinator at The Children's Home of Wheeling as the recreation coordinator.
