Water Polo

The Miami Country Day Aquatics Water Polo Team is a USA Water Polo club team located in beautiful Miami, FL.  We provide athletes with the opportunity to continue their water polo development all year long. We compete at the highest level, while focusing on water polo as a chance to learn important life lessons. Athletes are expected to commit themselves to their team and the sport, while upholding high academic and personal standards. We practice at the Miami Country Day School Aquatic Center. The address is: 601 NE 107th Street, Miami, FL. 33161.

The Miami Country Day Water Polo program is open to all boys and girls who are at least 13 years old.  Our coaching staff works with each athlete to develop skills and the fundamentals necessary to help them reach their maximum potential.  In addition to water polo skills and other physical activities, we offer a series of water polo related discussions and other water related exercises that promote creativity, character development, critical thinking, leadership, and encourage personal responsibility.  All athletes, when ready, compete in tournaments locally and nationally.

At MCDA Water Polo we have two training levels: Developmental (12's - 15's) & Elite (15's - 18's).

Developmental Program (12's - 15's): At this level there is an emphasis on improving the fundamentals and an introduction to game strategy.  Our staff expects a strong level of commitment which includes regular practice attendance and participation in scrimmages and tournaments.

Elite Program (15's - 18's):  At this level, our coaches expect the highest level of commitment and dedication to the team.  This includes regular practice attendance year round in addition to participation in tournaments year round.

The "Club Season" will start April 19th and we will practice Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings, until the end of July.  From mid-August until mid-November we practice once a week, on Saturdays, while the kids participate in High School Swim Season (FHSAA).  From mid-October to the beginning of January, practice is Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Then, January to the beginning of April is the High School Water Polo Season (FHSAA). During that time, the club practices will be suspended.
