Behavior Standards

Expectations:

  1. When the coaches talk, the swimmers will listen. This allows all swimmers to receive the most positive attention, and reduces frustration for the coaches’ and swimmers.

  2. The Riptide Swim Team members will respect all property at our pool and at away pools. This includes bathrooms, showers, and grounds. No hanging on lane lines, and NO RUNNING.

  3. Riptide swimmers will behave in a true sportsmanlike fashion toward their teammates, opposing teams, coaches, and adults. This could include cheering for all age groups and heats, being congratulatory to the other swimmers in your race and other races, and building team spirit. No put-downs or swearing will be tolerated.

Consequences:

  • First:  Verbal warning serves to inform the child of misbehavior and gives him/her the opportunity to change.

  • Second:  Out for the day and a call to the parents that evening.

  • Third:  Meeting with coaches and parents

  • Fourth:  Out for one week, meet with the parents, coaches and board members

  • Fifth:  Off the team.

Remember you represent your team.  Put forth your best and it will reflect well on everyone!!
