Mark is thrilled to be returning to the Oakhurst family as an Assistant Swim Coach this summer. This will be Mark’s seventh year as Assistant Coach of the Oakhurst Orcas.

Mark began swimming at the age of 6 for the Walnut Country Swim Team and made the switch to the Valley Vista Barracudas at the age of 7, where he was consistently county ranked in Backstroke as well as IM, Freestyle and Breaststroke. With a love of swimming he made the decision to go year round and swam for the Walnut Creek Aquabears from the age of 10 until 13. Returning to rec swimming during his junior year at De La Salle, Mark county qualified in Backstroke, IM and Breastroke.

Mark graduated from Mercyhurst University in 2014 as a double major in English and Religious Studies.  He currently works as a Sales Rep for Zumo and shares his summers with the Orca family.

After two summers away from the Bay Area, Shane is ecstatic to be returning to the Orca family as an Assistant Swim Coach this summer. This will be Shane’s first year as an Assistant Coach for the Orcas.

Shane has been swimming since the age of 4.  His family moved to the Bay Area in the fall of 2014 and he became an Orca for two seasons qualifying for county in IM, Breaststroke, Freestyle, and Butterfly.  Shane was a finalist at County in Breaststroke and Butterfly.  During his time as an Orca, Shane volunteered as a junior coach for the 10 and unders.

Shane was a 4 year Varsity high school swimmer qualifying for section championships each year.  He was team captain of both his high school swim and water polo teams.  Shane is currently completing his undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University as a Business major with a concentration in Finance and Economics, and a minor in philosophy.  Shane is stoked about being part of the Orca family again.
