Swim  and Dive Team Practice Groups:

Shark Bites

Back this season, we are offering an option for less experienced swimmers who are not quire ready for the rigor and commitment of the 8&Under group. Shark Bites is designed for kids who want to find out what swim team is all about. They will practice three days per week for 45 minutes, often in the shallow end of the pool. Shark Bites can transition to 8&Unders at any time during the season if they feel they are ready to move up, and Shark Bites can swim in any of our swim meets, but meets are not required (although we hope they will swim 3 meets so they can swim at All-City). Shark Bites are full members of our the Seminole Swim & Dive Team!

The cost to join Shark Bites is the same as our other swim groups, as this group is staffed with experienced members of our regular coaching staff. This will also allow swimmers to move easily between groups.

We encourage all swim team members to complete all levels of swim lessons, even if they join swim team. Swim team is not lessons, and our coaches are not able to offer individual instruction at the level offered in lessons. Lessons do not have to be completed before joining swim team.

8 & Unders
This is our entry level group.  To join this group an athlete needs to be able to swim one length of the pool with rhythmic breathing without stopping.  Many of our 8 & Under swimmers also sign up for  swim lessons in order to work on their stroke technique.

9 - 10 Age Group
Athletes in this group focus  on learning the four legal competitive strokes, and perfecting starts and turns.

11 - 12 Age Group
Athletes in this group continue to work on their stroke technique, building endurance, and starts and turns.

13 & Ups
This group consists of two age groups:  The 13 - 14 year olds and the 15 & over.  Athletes in this group continue to work on their stroke technique, building endurance, and starts and turns.

Dive Team Practice Groups:

12 & Under
To join this group a diver needs to have taken dive lessons and can complete 3 basic dives with an approach.  In addition, they need to be able to listen and follow directions.

13 & Up
This group of athletes will continue to build upon the dives that they have learned as well as learning new dives.
