Old Farm Announces it's 2017 FINS Coaching Staff!
Head Coach Danny Charlip:
Danny spent 10 seasons swimming with the Old Farm Eagles until he aged out in 2013. He also swam for RMSC and for WJ for four years on the Varsity team. Danny enjoys being able to coach the team that he grew up swimming on, and he especially loves being able to teach young swimmers the same traditions and cheers that he was taught as a young swimmer. The strong community feel at his neighborhood pool makes him want to come back every year. He is excited to compete against Division H competition while having fun everyday with the team this season. Since 2013 Danny has been coaching with FINS where he has continued to learn the ins and outs of running anMCSL team and coaching over 100 swimmers ages 2 to 18. He cannot wait to start this season as Head Coach and make this Old Farm season the best season yet!
Assistant. Head Coach Mike Scott:
Coach Mike has been a FINS Head Coach for the last 8 years and an Assistant Head Coach at Old Farm for the past 4 summers. Prior to that, he swam at Tilden Woods for 10 seasons where he developed into not only a great swimmer, but also a crazy and spirited character; making videos and designing meet themes since the age of 12. Mike swam competitively in Potomac Valley Swimming for seven seasons and was also a contributor on the Walter Johnson Varsity team for all four years. Mike was also a Pre-Team Coach at Tilden Woods for one season. He is looking forward to another great season as Old Farm takes on Division H!
Assistant. Coach Kristen Scott:
Coach Kristen has been a member of the FINS coaching staff for 5 years. For the past two years, Kristen has been an OF assistant coach, helping with pre-team and Little Eagles at Old Farm. Kristin swam at TW for 10 seasons and swam competitively at RMSC for 8 seasons. Kristen loves to cheer on her swimmers at meets and knows that the spirit outside of the pool is just as important as the strokes you take during your race. GOOF!
Assistant Coach Celine Nugent:
Coach Céline has enjoyed swimming since starting with Rockville Montgomery Swim Club at the age of five and has worked her way up to the National Training Group. As captain of Walter Johnson High School Swim and Dive, Céline was the state champion in the 200 IM and was selected for the 2016 Washington Post All met second team her junior year. She will be continuing her studies and her swimming career at Georgia Institute of Technology where she hopes to study Business. Céline currently swims at TW, where she'll be entering her twelfth MCSL season! Céline has been coaching with FINS for 3 years and loves to have fun with the kids! She looks forward to coaching the Eagles this summer. Go Old Farm!

This will be his final season swimming with the Eagles and he knows it'll be his best one yet! He swam for the RMSC Senior group and the Walter Johnson Swim & Dive Team before graduating this past year, and started coaching for FINS year-round in 2016. Danny is looking forward to his second year as an Old Farm coach, and hopes to lead the team to Division H greatness!
