Practice & Meet Info

The success of your child’s swimming experience depends on many different factors.  Our coaching staff will place each child in the appropriate workout level according to his/her individual skill. A good portion of practice will involve repetition of skills, strength work, endurance and technique. What may appear to be playing around might actually be a swimming drill to improve technique. Please remember to reward your child for the effort and dedication they have given. As in most situations in life, these two skills will encourage positive outcomes. Children will gain self-esteem while working on their swimming skills. Being a swimmer may be temporary, but self-esteem lasts forever.

Practice for Swimmers 10 and under:

  • Parents of children ages 10 and under must remain on the pool grounds while the child is at practice, or make arrangements for another adult to be responsible for their child.

All Practices:

  • When practice is over, swimmers should LEAVE THE POOL GROUNDS if the pool is not open for members. If you are at the pool because you have other children practicing you are responsible for your children.

  • Swimmers should arrive for practice 5-10 min. early to allow time to prepare themselves for practice and begin warm-ups in a timely fashion.

  • Parents: Please do not approach the coaching staff to talk with them during swim team practice. They remain available for parent/coach communication at the end of each practice, or you may wish to put your questions/concerns in writing and leave the message in the designated spot on the bulletin board. Or you may call Head Coach Danny Benedetti at 301-655-1995.
