Pre- Team: For the minimum experienced swimmer who is unafraid to jump into the deep end of the pool and go underwater on their own. One length of the pool (25 yards) of both backstroke and freestyle must be demonstrated as well as coaches recommendation is required to enroll.
Beginner Competitive Team: For the less experienced swimmer who is unafraid to dive into the deep end of the pool and go underwater on their own. Two lengths of the pool (50 yards) of both backstroke and freestyle must be demonstrated and a good start on the mechanics for Butterfly and Breaststroke as well as coaches recommendation is required to enroll.
Junior Competitive Team: For the little more experienced swimmer. The swimmer should be comfortable swimming in deep water, be able to swim the 250 yards freestyle with non-stop basic rotary breathing techniques, 100 yards backstroke and breaststroke. The four basic strokes (freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke) are taught with appropriate turns and starts. The introduction of light to moderate endurance training is started and an understanding of using the time clock and timed intervals. Demonstration of skills as well as coaches recommendation is required to enroll.
Competitive Team: For the more experienced swimmer who know the four competitive strokes but may need minute refinement. Endurance training is emphasized with race techniques and strategies are introduced to enhance competitive performance. A strong emphasis is placed on the team is stressed. Must be able to complete 500 yards freestyle, 200 backstroke and Breaststroke, 100 Butterfly and 200 IM.
Senior Competitive Team: For the experienced swimmer who is expected to swim workout minimum support required from coach. Must be a varsity or modified swimmer and is self motivated and willing to set the example
Minimum criteria for entry is (1) National time standard and a desire to be competitive on a National level. This group focuses on qualifying for Olympic Trials every 4 years. Minimum training sets for entry include:
