2018 LCM WRIGHT COUNTY WAVE SWIM CLUB TRAINING GROUPS

It is the goal of the Wright County Wave to offer age-specific training for all of our athletes geared toward challenging each individual and developing each swimmer to the best of their abilities.  Currently the Wright County Wave Swim Club has eight training groups.  Wright County Wave swim coaches will place swimmers into a training group based on their age and their competitive swimming skill development.

Each training group will have a designated practice time.  Click the  TRAINING SCHEDULE BUTTON  on the website home to view exact practice times and upcoming meets for the season.

Coaches will determine when a swimmer is ready to advance to the next level.  A swimmer may advance within the coarse of a season.

Wave swimmers in all training groups will be encouraged to participate in swim meets.  Wave home meets are mandatory and short races are available for smaller new swimmers.  Parents and swimmers may pick and choose the away meets they want to attend.  During the on-line meet registration process parents and swimmers may indicate their individual event preferences, however all entries do require coach approval.  Please beware that coaches may switch events at their digression.  Coaches will also determine the swimmers in all Wave relays and the order of swimmers in each relay.

The purchase of a Wave team swim suit and swim cap is highly recommended.  Suits should be ordered at the beginning of the season.  Visit the Wave Suits & Caps link on the website to order suits.  Caps may be purchased at practice.

WAVE SWIM CLUB TRAINING GROUP PROGRESSION

Below is a guide to help parents understand our Swim Training Group Progression.  The progression is designed to  increase practice duration and intensity as a swimmer ages and progresses in their skills.  Please contact your child's training group coach if you have questions.

At this time all Senior level athletes (Silver & Gold training groups) train together so below the progression builds to a single Senior Group.  As our club grows these two training groups may split and a additional Senior Elite Group will be added.
