Description of Positions:

Assistant Zone Team Coach:

LESI annually selects up to three Assistant Zone swim coaches to serve as staff members for the Central Zone Long Course Age Group Championship.  The coaches report to the Head Zone Team Coach and are responsible in tandem with the Head Coach for the entries of the Zone Team, the supervision of athletes within an age group at the meet, selection of athlete’s meet events by deadlines given, and encouraging all athletes selected to perform to the best of their abilities.  Assistant coaches along with head coach and Zone chair must work directly with chaperones to ensure a smooth, efficient and enjoyable trip for all CZ-LE participants.          


1 Lead Chaperone Director:

The Lead Chaperone Director will be in charge the organization of Chaperones and Food Coordinators.  The Lead Chaperone would be responsible for assisting others in meeting all USA Swimming requirements to become a Chaperone.  The lead chaperone would also coordinate and keep the collection of medical forms, medications, etc. that each swimmer may need.  In addition, the Lead Chaperone would coordinate with Zone Chair and the bus/transportation during entire trip. (meeting times/communication with chaperones and swimmers)

5 Chaperones

Chaperones needed may vary depending on the total number of participants. Chaperones are responsible for the safety of our swimmers.  Chaperones are a vital part of the Zones Team! The coaches are responsible for our swimmer while they are on the pool deck.  The Chaperones handle everything else. Chaperones must be registered members of USA Swimming.  Details on the requirements to become a chaperone are located on the drop down tab. 

Food Coordinator

1 Food Coordinators will be responsible for everything that fuels our athletes.  The organization of breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks to fuel and hydrate the participants throughout the entire trip.  Duties include, but are not limited to: purchasing food and beverages for travel; setting up reservations for team meals; preparing packed lunches and snacks as needed for athletes; monitoring and stocking team room at hotel; transportation of drinks and snacks to pool and back; etc.
