About Swim Ithaca

Swim Ithaca is a registered USA Swimming team formed in 2013 to support the continued growth and development of youth competitive swimming in the greater Ithaca, NY area. We seek to introduce new swimmers to the sport of competitive swimming while supporting swimmers at all levels to reach their greatest potential as competitors.

Our swimmers train locally and compete regularly in meets at the local, regional, and national levels.  Swim Ithaca is in the Niagara LSC (one of 59 Local Swimming Committees in the U.S.) and part of USA Swimming as the national governing body for the sport.  Swim Ithaca competes in the Southern Tier Swim League (STSL).

Swim Ithaca is a coach-led and parent-governed team.  At the heart of our team are our coaches: for more information, please visit the coaches page.

As a non-profit (501c3) organization, Swim Ithaca is governed by a board made up of parent members along with representatives of the team coaching staff and a facilities representative from our hosts at Ithaca College.  The 2020-2021 board is made up of the following members:

Steve Clapp (President)
Lindsay Anderson (Vice-President, Safe Sport Coordinator)
Claudia Fischbach (Secretary)
Mike Blakely-Armitage (Head Coach)
Mike Ariel (IC Facilities Rep)
