HEAD COACH - Kim Peters

Kim Peters and her family, husband Matt and four children, Bailey, Dakota, Justine, and Mattie, moved to Vermont from Cincinnati, Ohio.  Kim coached in Cincinnati for the past twenty years at various teams, but finished her last 8 years at the Clippard YMCA.  She started a Competitive team at the Clippard YMCA with only 35 swimmers and each year growing the program not only in numbers, but quality of the program.  Her last year at Clippard she was given the award of Southwest Ohio Coach Of the Year.  Kim also has coached High School teams where she has received Coach of the Year for the district 2 years in a row.  Kim focuses on the growth of each swimmer and understands the need of progression of strokes and each swimmer has their own journey.  Kim is excited to be a part of the team and excited about the potential of the program and individual swimmers.




Laura grew up in the Rutland area and swam for the Rutland Recreation Swim Team from the age of 7 to 18 years.  In the summers during high school she worked as a lifeguard at Northwood Pool and also taught swim lessons.  After graduating from Rutland High School she went on to the University of Vermont (UVM) and swam her freshman year on the swim team.  Upon graduation from UVM, she moved to Raleigh, North Carolina for 7 years to teach 3rd Grade.  Outside of teaching she worked as a pool manager and taught swim lessons and was also a lifeguard.  She moved back to the Rutland area a few years ago and is currently a 2nd Grade teacher.  She is very excited to be part of the Killington Aquatic Club!


MASTERS COACH - Nicola Shipman

Nicola started swimming competitively as an 8 and Under for the Briar Flyers, a summer swim team in Houston, Texas, and she has been involved in the sport as an instructor, coach or competitor for much of her life.  Nicola is a USMS Level 3  Masters Coach and Adult Learn-to-Swim Certified Instructor with experience coaching a range of ages and developmental levels.  Nicola coached Masters swimmers at UVAC under Head Coach Barbara Hummel and created a summer SwimFit Adult program at the Woodstock Rec. Center.  With over five years of Masters coaching experience, Nicola enjoys being part of a community of swimmers who are connected through their love of sport.




Kristin is the founder and Board President of the Killington Aquatic Club and Killington Aquatic Club Masters.  Since its inception in 2012, Kristin and the KAC(M) Board have been building the KAC(M) swim programs to provide attainable goals for every level of swimming.  Kristin is the President of the Killington Sharks Swim Team at the Killington Parks and Rec. Department in Killington, Vermont, where she was introduced to competitive swimming.  With in the first year she became a League Stroke and Turn Judge and at present a swim meet Starter.  She is currently a USA Swimming Stroke and Turn Judge.  In the spring of 2016 she earned the level of USMS Coach for Adult Learn-to-Swim.  The summer of 2016 has been extremely rewarding watching new ALTS students attain their goals.  Raised and living in Killington, Vermont has given Kristin a wonderful life and an opportunity to grow in the world of swimming.  Raising now her own swim family, she looks forward to helping other adults achieve their swimming goals.
