Tennis Camp

Woodhaven Tennis Camp Bring a racquet! We’ll bring the fun!

Research shows that kids learn faster when they are having fun! So, the United States Tennis Association created a program to teach tennis
fundamentals in an enjoyable and relaxed environment. We took the fun factor one step further and created Tennis Camp! In addition to traditional drills, camp games are used to build tennis skills. For example, water balloons are used to teach a proper serve toss. “Tennis racquet baseball” increases hitting power. Relay races improves footwork speed. Snowballs on a hot day are just fun! There are several more activities, too. Good fitness and yoga stretches get campers warmed up. Our camp is ideal for beginners to advanced beginners, ages 5 – 12 years old. In addition to whole camp games, similar age/skill levels are partnered for micro group activities. What makes our tennis camp unique is every child receives one-on-one coaching, too, which important to ensure proper technique is learned from the start. Camp is offered at convenient times, so you can sign up for dates that are best for your family.

Rain Date Policy -- We are hoping for blue skies all summer long, but as a back-up plan, certain Fridays and the week of August 6 – 10 will be “Rain Make-up Dates”. As a guideline, if there is lightning/heavy rain, camp will be postponed to a Rain Date. When the courts have puddles due to an earlier shower, but the weather has improved, camp will meet on dry part of courts, under shelter, and on the lawn. Parents will be kept informed via email early each day. NEW this season! Beginner Lessons: Small Group and Private Tennis Lessons are available for all ages, including teens and adults. Lessons provide even more individual coaching time. It is recommended for beginners to ensure correct fundamentals are learned. Private lessons are $20 per hour. Small Group are $10 per person, per hour. Times/dates are flexible.
