2021 PRACTICE INFORMATION & SCHEDULE

New Guidelines for 2021:

- No parents will be allowed into the pool area for practice. This means no non-swimmers will be allowed inside the gates of either facility during practice.. 

- Based off of current guidelines, all swimmers will lineup outside the gate prior to entry for temperature checks prior to entering pool while maintaing social distancing guideines.

- All other health and safety protocals will be follwoed and enforced based off of current guidelines. Examples are masks and social distancing.

The Stroh Ranch Home Owners Association requests that the following rules be followed for practice at the Stroh Ranch Pool:

Always use the gate entrance on Nate Dr. when entering the pool area for morning practice. For evening practice in the indoor pool, you can enter either through the gate or the Rec Center, but please do not use the rec center parking lot. You must park either on Nate Dr. or J Morgan Blvd so we leave spaces for the residents using the Rec Center. The Rec Center amenities (outdoor pool, baby pool, work out room, locker rooms, etc..) are off limits to non-residents. Please help us stay in good standing with the HOA and Residents by following these rules.


Plan to attend a minimum of 3 practices per week to prepare for Saturday meets!

Practice Cancelation Policy:

We will try to avoid cancelling practice when possible. In case of bad weather, cancelation notices will be communicated through Team Unify by postings to our web-site, Facebook page, emails to the team and text messages if you are are signed up to receive them.

WE REQUEST THAT PARENTS/SIBLINGS/GUARDIANS DO NOT HAVE CONVERSATIONS OR SPEAK WITH THE COACHES DURING PRACTICE TIMES. THIS TAKES TIME AND ATTENTION AWAY FROM YOUR KIDS DURING THE PRACTICE SESSIONS AND CAN BE A HAZARD. Practice Focus

Week 1: Review rules for practice and lane etiquette, and establish training base. Go over basics: typical distances for swims in workout, intervals, freestyle swimming and streamlining. Acclimate swimmers who are new to the team and those returning swimmers who have not been in the water for practice since last summer with shorter workout distances and longer intervals.

Week 2: Begin stroke work on strokes other than freestyle; simple stroke fundamentals for fly, back, and breast. Prep for first meet including: sportsmanship, team support, relays, starts, turns, heating area and personal preparation for competition.

Mid Season - Weeks 3-6: Increase distance in workouts - decrease rest intervals in order to build muscular strength and aerobic conditioning. Devote some time during each workout to strokes other than freestyle and streamlining.

Week 7: Championship preperation - mini taper; decrease yardage with more quality swims. Refine starts and turns.

Week 8: Full taper for All Stars participants.

All regular season practices are Monday through Thursday, and run June 1st through July 8th unless otherwise noted.
