Corvallis Aquatic Team - Clemens Division
Clemens Community Pool, Philomath

We are pleased to offer three squads for swimmers of various ages and abilities at our Clemens Division in Philomath.  Our programs at Clemens are by 9-week session.

Registration forms (available below) are required from each swimmer for the first session of each season (September through August) and must be completed before the swimmer can participate.  Payment for returning swimmers is due at the start of each session.  New swimmers may take a one week trial to make sure the program is a good fit, but payment is required after the first week is complete.

**Session #2 will be 10 weeks long to allow for days off for holidays and high school home meets

Novice:

The novice squad is for new swimmers ages 9-10 & under.  At the novice level, the young athlete is introduced to the sport of competitive swimming.  The primary objective of the novice program is to teach the swimmer the four basic competitive strokes: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle.  Novice swimmers also learn and practice starts, turns, drills, and games to develop additional skills needed for competition. Novice swimmers can attend a maximum of 3 practices per week.

Junior:

The Junior swimmer can perform the four competitive swim strokes and is ready to learn more sophisticated techniques.  At this level, advanced drills are implemented, starts and turns are emphasized, and interval training is introduced.

Senior:

The Senior squad is designed for high school students who wish to train during the high school competitive swimming off-season from March through mid-November.  It is also appropriate for those of high school age who are new to the sport of competitive swimming. The senior training program strongly emphasizes conditioning as well as technique, and it provides the individual with opportunities to progress rapidly.  Senior level swimmers who are involved in other high school sports may choose to train with this group. Attendance at daily training sessions is strongly encouraged.

Additional Information

In addition to the above session costs, every athlete is required to be registered with USA Swimming at an annual cost of $68.  (If a swimmer joins between April 1 and August 31, the seasonal membership is $40.)  This fee is non-refundable.   If the swimmer's family qualified for free or reduced lunch and can provide proof from their school, the membership can be reduced to $5 through the USA Swimming outreach program.

Registration will be done at the start of each session.  A swimmer may join midway through a session, but the session fee will not be prorated.  Swimmers will register at the first practice they attend of each session.  Payment (in the form of cash, check, or credit card) will be required at the time of registration.

Swimmers who swim during Session #5 and are interested in participating with CAT in our Summer Trophy League may do so for an additional cost of $35.  The cost includes 4 meets, a t-shirt, awards, and end of season celebration.
