Important announcement about CAT-Clemens Division

Hello current and former CAT-Clemens swimmers and supporters -

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that for financial and logistical reasons the Clemens Division of the Corvallis Aquatic Team will not operate for the 2019-20 season.   CAT-Clemens took over the 54-year-old Philomath Dolphins Swim Team program in March of 2014, and 165 youth have participated with CAT in Philomath for varying lengths of time since that date.   It is our hope that this is not a permanent situation, and we will attempt to revisit the decision before next summer as well as for the 2020-21 season.

All current and former Clemens swimmers are encouraged to continue their swim team paritcipation with CAT at Osborn Aquatic Center.  The season will begin for most swimmers on Monday, September 16.  The practice schedule can be found here.  Online registration begins September 1 and emails will go out with more information.  Questions about squad placement for younger swimmers can be directed to Greg at catbostrom@aol.com; high school students should email Rick at surfswimcat@aol.comfor information about the Senior squad start date.  Please keep in mind that the coaches are on vacation for the second half of August so response may be delayed.

We would like to take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to Marissa Eng, who has been our head coach at Clemens for the duration of our time there.  Marissa will continue to live and work in the Corvallis area and is pursuing her Masters of Arts in Teaching at Northwest Christian University, and we wish her the best of luck as she begins this exciting time!   Also, additional thanks goes to Matt Weeber, who has represented Clemens on the CAT board for several years; and to Ellen Luke, who as director of the Clemens Community Pool has been an invaluable source of support for the team and the children of Philomath.  And to all of you who have supported swimming in Philomath through participation, coaching, volunteering, and in other ways - thank you!!!

If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Thank you,

Rhonda Soule'
