Rhodes Summer Swim Team offers training and practice groups for swimmers ages 5-19 with varying ability levels. It is our goal to instill a love of the sport, first and foremost, knowing that it is entirely possible to be competitive in the process.

Practices begin MONDAY, MAY 28.

Red Group This group consists of our 8 & Under swimmers.  Participants in this group will be exposed to all swim strokes in a very playful environment.  Our goal is to build their confidence in the pool.  They will learn the swim lingo and play games, but they will surprise their parents by the end of the summer with how comfortable they are in the water!

If a swimmer is unable to swim a 25 meter lap unassisted reliably, they will only participate in home meets. Once athletes have mastered a lap with ease, they will be able to participate in all dual meets.  More confident swimmers in this group will participate in all dual meets, the Guppy Meet, provided that they are slower than the standards, and the City Meet.

Workout Days/Times: Monday-Thursday 9:45am-10:45am  Please bring goggles, fins and swim cap.

Black Group  From the Red group, athletes move into this group. Athletes in this group are usually 9 & 10 years old and many have been exposed to the four strokes.  But if you haven't, don't worry!  You will fit in nicely and learn a variety of drills that will assist you. Our goal is to make certain your strokes are legal!  These athletes compete in all of our dual meets and the City Meet.

Workout Days/Times:  Monday-Thursday 8:00am-9:00am  Please bring goggles, swim caps and kickboards.

Silver Group For those 11 & Up, and for those year-round swimmers who just cannot get enough of the pool, this group is for you!  The goal of this group is to stay in shape and learn how to race.  These athletes participate in all dual meets and the City Meet.

Workout Days/Times:  Monday-Thursday 8:45am-10:00am  Please bring goggles, swim caps, kickboards and running shoes.

Camp Lane: Available at the 8:00 am practice for swimmers who cannot attend their regularly scheduled practice due to a day camp.  This lane will have a variety of ages and abilities, therefore swimmers must swim the length of the pool unassisted.
