This group is designed to give an introduction to competitive swimming for the young swimmer. Swimmers may not be familiar with all 4 competitive swimming strokes. Emphasis is placed on teaching swimmers the 4 competitive strokes through drills and games. Swimmers must have the ability to swim 25 yards unassisted to begin with the Novice Group. It is at the discretion of the coaches as to when the individual swimmer is moved to the next group.
Workout Days/Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays 6:00-6:30 pm
This level is designed for the young swimmer who is familiar with all 4 competitive stokes, but is still inexperienced in competitive swimming. More emphasis is placed on learning more fundamentals of competitive swimming like starts and turns. This group may be split into Aqua I and Aqua II under the same coach swimming similar workouts and with the same focus.
This group has more focus on the competitive swimmer who is at a level to start more endurance based workouts. There is still a strong emphasis on stroke technique with more advanced drills and workouts. Individual goal setting becomes an important part of the swimmers preparation. Participation in meets is encouraged as a way for coaches to evaluate the swimmer's progress.
