Jesse Debolt, Mahomet-Seymour High School

When did you start swimming? How did you get started? What teams or clubs have you swum with?

I started swimming when I was 5 because my brother swam and I wanted to do what he did because it was cool. From there I basically fell in love and now its more like an addictiona good addiction though. I have swum with Aquachiefs, Heat, Sholem, Crystal Lake, and the Mahomet High School swim team.

What are your college plans? Will you swim? What will you major in?

Im going to Parkland for two years, majoring in theatre and English, after two years Im not sure where, right now it looks like ISU.  I will probably only swim for fitness, because being a theatre major takes a lot of time.

What have you learned from swimming?

I have learned a great deal of discipline and responsibility, and if you put your mind to something, you can do it.  I have also learned that I can swim when I am asleep at 5:45 AM.

What is your favorite swimming memory?

I have a lot of fun memories from swimming, my most recent favorite memory would have to be this last summer, we all spent an hour of our practice time picking out our lane t-shirt, the rest of the time we spent swimming, but the main thing we debated on whether to have a regular V-neck or a deep V.

What is your favorite event? Least favorite?

My favorite event is the 500 free and my least favorite event is anything butterfly.

What 3 people would you invite to dinner?

Will Barker, Bruce Miller, and Frank Sampson/Leslie Cromwell (they count as one person)
