BOARD MEETING

REPORTS
Secretary's Report/Minutes:
The minutes of the April 22, 2008 meeting were unanimously approved as written.
Treasurer's Report:
Membership: Buena :102 Masters: 68
March Financial Statements. There was a question at the April meeting regarding $564.37 in the accounts receivable section on the Balance Sheet of March 31, 2008. This was a check written to the previous head coach which was returned to the Club and put back into our account.
June Invitational 2007 Income=$1483.50. This is income collected from some of the hotels used during the June Invitational 2007.
Profit and Loss as of 3/31/08=$4957.98
March Meet income=$5112.
It was noted in the March financial statements that the Club received no income through E-Script. A reminder will be sent out to members regarding this program.
April Financial Statements. There is $3900 in dues outstanding for April.
As of 5/12/08 the pool fund has $10,000.
Clarification of item “CSA Meet Income”-This is the meet entry fees which are collected and then sent to CSA for all BSC swimmers registered for the meet.
April profit and loss as of 4/30/08= -$1566.05
Both the March and April Financial statements were reviewed and unanimously approved.
Workers Compensation Plan-Currently the Club uses State Fund Insurance which is a payment in advance system. A recommendation was made that the Club change to using Paycheck Agency, Inc. which uses a pay as you go system. The cost to the Club (based on current payroll) would be $3500/year by using Paycheck Inc. vs. $3800/year.
A motion was made to change from State Fund to Paycheck Agency for workers compensation.

Storage Unit-Dave Hemming has found a storage unit in Ventura for $115/month. The Club currently has a storage unit in Oxnard for $116/month. A motion was made to change storage unit and to have the treasurer write a check for the new storage unit.

Summerfest- Shelli will be attending this event.
Head Coach's Report:
Summer Program-Jillian McGrath will coach. There will be 2- 4 week sessions. $100/session. This program starts on June 19th. Information on this program needs to be added to the Club website. Jim will make a flyer for this program.
Marty Armstrong will be coaching Age Group III. He is currently working with Kathleen. In the future, Jason would like to hire an additional coach.
Team Suits-Dawn will be on deck Monday, May 19th to take orders.
Personalized caps-There is a 2 cap minimum to order a personalized cap.
Swim-a-thon-68 swimmers participated. There was some discussion about changing the date of the swim a thon to another month than May. Some parents feel that May is already a very busy month for school activities, etc.
Masters Fees/Policy regarding “drop in swimmers”.
The following fees were decided upon:
Drop in fee for out of town swimmers-$7. Jason will collect this fee.
Prepaid/Punch Cards-For master swimmers who swim periodically. Each punch card will have a USMS form attached to it. Each card will be good for 10 swims and will cost $65. Mike Shaffer will design a punch card. The hope is that by providing a program like this that it will interest some triathletes who would eventually join the Masters program. The punch card program will begin June 2nd.
May13-Pictures will be taken for ID cards.
USA Swimming Website-some BSC swimmers have made the Top 20 list in their age group.
Chesna Biolley -800 M Free, Nick Vargas and Katie Nettesheim in the 1500 M free.
There will be a bid meeting in early June for 2008-2009 meet season. Our club would like to host the same 4 meets.
OLD BUSINESS
Code of Conduct-Draft was reviewed. Additional changes will be made and approval will be done at the June meeting.
Meeting adjourned at 8 pm.
NEXT MEETING: The next scheduled board meeting is Tuesday, June 24th, 2008 Any parent is welcome to attend, however we do ask that you notify Dawn Folino-Wood ([email protected]) at least one week before the meeting so appropriate accommodations can be made.
