Team Philosophy
Founded in 1973, YFD is an athlete-centered, coach-guided, and parent-supported program. Our coaches guide athletes to own the road to their greatest individual potential. We value building leadership skills, teamwork, confidence, and emotional intelligence as paramount.
With these values and the technical precision of our training program, YFD athletes consistently represent Team USA at the World Maccabiah Games, final at Junior Nationals and NCSA Age Group Championships, earning Scholastic All-American recognition, win championship meets as a team, and then go on to swim and study at the most prestigious universities in the country.
Our training groups teach skills that build the character of each swimmer to excel both in the water and in the classroom. We pride ourselves on growing the next generation of game-changers.

We believe in the transformative power of inclusion in our sport, and we pride ourselves on being a home for everyone. Through 92Y's scholarship program, we are able to provide the resources so that no swimmer is turned away because of an inability to pay.
Our YFD coaches reflect the young leaders we nurture – they're distinguished men and women who draw from their myriad of lived experiences, origins, cultures, and languages.
