Joanna competed against the best age group swimmers in Canada at the Canadian Junior Championships in Calgary at the end of July. She swam four personal best times and was 15th in 100 & 400 free, 16th in 200 free and 26th in 1500 free. Joanna set new club records in 100, 400 and 1500 free and was a tenth of a second shy of Coach Alex's 50 free club record.

The Riptides smashed 13 long course club records at Alberta Summer Champs in July. The group of 8 swimmers that qualified and attended were the largest group to represent the club at Champs in over a decade: Kahlen, Carter, Jaime, Kai, Jeremy, Joanna, David and Kiana. The highest finishes were: Kahlen 8th in 800 & 1500 free, 9th in 400 free & 200 back; Kai 8th in 200 breast; Jaime 10th in 400 IM; and Joanna 10th in 1500 free. Over the past weekend we had three athletes compete in Long Course Provincial Championships in Calgary. Carter Beamish, Kahlen Anderson and Natalie Logan were the three Riptides athletes representing the club. Carter coming home with a gold in the 100m BK, Silver in the 200m BK and 200m Fly, bronze in the 200m FR and 50m BK Natalie Logan swam well and was able to beat 4 of her personal bests and placing top 10 in her 50m Breastroke while swimming faster in the final Kahlen Anderson set good intentions...

Riptides swimmers smashed 20 club records at Alberta Spring Championships in Edmonton this weekend, while David and Joanna qualified for the Western Canadian Championships. The highest finishes were: Carter 5th in 50 back; Jaime 6th in 200 IM; and Kai 8th in 200 breast and 10th in 200 fly. Natalie won gold in 50m breaststroke and silver in 100m breaststroke at Alberta Provincials in Calgary and advanced to the Alberta Championships for the first time. She had personal best times in all of her races.   Ksenia swam five PBs and dropped 10 seconds in the 200 free and 4 in the 100 free.
