38 Riptides Athletes competed over the Jun 4-5 weekend, the most the club has ever brought to a meet! With much of the competitive club in attendance coaches saw such great team spirit, fast swimming, and lots of rain. We had some new competitors from the Novice program attend this meet as their first meet. It was such a great experience for the novice swimmers that they all wanted to go back and compete at more meets for next year. This is such a great attitude to see from such...

A long weekend of swimming in Medicine Hat for the annual team travel meet. There was a lot of excitement in the running up to the meet, not only for the competition, but the bus ride, accommodation and the team atmosphere! We had a fun night on Friday when we arrived playing some glow in the dark mini golf and laser tag, a warm up to the weekend. Everyone did an amazing job in their swims and cheering on their team mates during the prelims and final events. Avery and...

Well done on the weekend with the swim meet! Thank you to all for volunteering and putting on a great meet for the athletes. Everyone seemed to have a positive experience whether it was their first competition or the 10th. The athletes had a lot of great swims throughout the afternoon, lots of high fives and smiles to go around. We had Greta in the White group break a couple clubs records! 1 in the girls 10 and under 100 FR and the other in the 200FR. Well done Greta!...

Last weekend the Riptides returned to some LC racing in Calgary. It was fun to see the athletes respond to a new challenge or a return to a familar foe for those who raced LC before. Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed on their attiude and effort throughout the weekend. I especially loved their support of eachother on the final weekend. It was a great atmosphere which helped swimmers to continue to raise their performances throughout the finals sessions. Whilst there were fantastic performances across the board i would...

An amazing turn out at the Riptides vs. Patriots meet hosted on November 27th! We had 35 Riptides athletes participate in the meet. Of those 35 we had 10 new novice swimmers race for the first time. This was an incredible turn out for new athletes racing. The experience for them must have made an impact because they are all asking when the next meet is! We had some outstanding swims from Greta, Charlie, Danae and Scottlyn- well done! Greta has qualified for the Festival meets. Scotlyn, Charlie and Danae...

This weekend the Riptides re-entered the Calgary swimming scene. Swimming at Repsol for the first time in nearly 2 years! It was great to be back and racing outside of our small bubble and home pool in Canmore. We had a number of swimmers swimming in their first-ever heats and finals meet. I would like to congratulate those athletes on their courage to step up and race in an unfamiliar environment. It is a great learning experience for you all. I hope that you continue to push yourselves to new...
