PRESIDENT'S UPDATE

Dear RIP swimmers and parents

Well it’s that time of year again!!  A new season for the Riptides is starting!  I will be sending out an e-mail next week outlining all RIP details for the month of September and for the fall session, but I do want to get the ball rolling on some things....

Once again, the Riptides will be volunteering at the Melissa’s Road Race on September 28th – it will be their 40th anniversary, and the shirts this year are suppose to be fabulous – all volunteers will be getting one!!

We will be needing 20 volunteers – all ages are welcome!!  Swimmers/parents will be running the t-shirt pick up booth (same as last year) from 830am-1230pm.  Please go to the link below and select T-shirt Pick Up - Riptides Only

https://melissasroadrace.volunteerlocal.com/volunteer/?id=40461

The club will be receiving $1000 for our volunteer efforts, so it’s important that we fill all 20 volunteer positions!!  If you can help out that morning, it would be great!  I know that the swimmers had a blast last year at the race.

The club this year has decided to start working more with our swimmers and ensuring that we are providing a safe and bullying free environment.  We will be bringing in the Dare to Care program.   Other swim clubs provide this program to their swimmers/parents/coaches and have had great success with it.  This program is mandatory for all swimmers, coaches AND PARENTS!!  We are bringing the program to the club on MONDAY OCTOBER 7th, so please save the date!!  4-5pm will be for all swimmers 10yrs and under, 5-7pm will be for all swimmers 11-18yrs, and parent/coaches meeting will be from 730-930pm.  This will be held at Elevation Place in room 209.
