Some of our families may be asking: “What exactly is Long Course Season?”

Currently our swim season is divided as follows:

Short Course Season - September through March - (Athletes train & compete at swim meet events in a 25m pool) - Last day of Short Course season will be Saturday, April 4, 2020

Long Course Season - April through June - (Athletes train in our 25m pool but compete at swim meet events in a 50m pool) - First day of Long Course season will be Monday, April 6, 2020

Practice times to be determined based on numbers of registrants. Coaching staff will inform parents as soon as schedules are finalized.

All swimmers that are currently registered in short course have the option of registering for long course to continue swimming until the end of June.

If you chose to register for long course season, you have 2 options, train for recreation or train to compete.

If your swimmer can complete a 50m swim confidently and safely then your swimmer may qualify to compete in a 50m pool (please contact coach Mary-Anne at edson.orca.coach@gmail.com with any questions about this). If not, they are still more than welcome to continue swimming for recreation. Please note that the fees remain the same if swimmers choose to swim only for recreation. Extra fees will apply to enter swimmers into swim meet events just as they have in the short course season.

Meets that will be occurring during the long course season are in Grande Prairie (May 1st -3rd), Sherwood Park (May 23rd-24th) and Kamloops BC (May 29-31st) so mark you calendars!
