SHARK BITES WEEK 1 2020-2021 Season

Important Notice: Please do not reply to this weekly communication. Emails should be sent to [email protected]

Welcome! We are so excited to be able to begin the 2020-2021 season. We are committed to facing the current challenges with patience, creativity, and positive attitudes. Let’s work together to make this season a great one. Go Tigersharks!

Know your Practice Group: Make sure you know what practice group your swimmer is in! This is very important that you come to practice at the right time. The practice groups were created to ensure that we have the proper number of swimmers in the pool. Your group was sent to you in an email last week.

Waitlist: If you have not paid at the YMCA you are not on the roster. You will need to speak with Tom directly about availability.

No borrowing: Each athlete will need to bring their own water bottles and goggles! No borrowing.

Wear your suit! We are requesting that our athletes wear their suits under a warm up and then leave the pool area with the warm up on. While the locker rooms are open, we are requesting that all of our athletes simply wear warmups over suits when coming to and leaving practice.

YMCA POLICIES: All persons entering the YMCA should wear a mask and practice social distancing when possible. Everyone will be asked Healthy Entrance Questions and have their temperature taken.

YMCA HOURS: The YMCA locks the doors at 8:30P M-R and at 7:30P on Fridays. The hours of the building have been extended to provide adequate practice times for our swimmers during this “new Normal.” It will be imperative that our coaches end practice on time, that our athletes quickly put their warm ups on and exit the pool and it will be the responsibility of parents to ensure that your athlete is picked up on time at the end of each practice. The building closes at the same time that the Advanced Group practice ends at 8:30pm Monday through Thursday and at 7:30pm on Fridays. The doors will be locked at that time. If you arrive after 8:30, you will be able to pick up your athlete on the front porch of the building.

Advanced and Competition Groups begin: September 14

Clearance forms should be placed in the red envelope found next to the Swim Team Mail box on the YMCA pool deck. Do NOT provide clearances to the YMCA front Desk.
