Registration / Training Groups

Bronze Level Group:

Description: In order to be eligible for Bronze swimmers MUST be able to swim 2x25 yards freestyle, breathing to the side.  Swimmers MUST also be able to do a 25-yard backstroke and attempt a 25 breaststroke.  The backstroke and the breaststroke do NOT have to be legal, but the swimmers should have an understanding of what the coach means when he/she is asked to attempt to swim those strokes.  Bronze swimmers work to become swim meet-ready, meaning their strokes are legal.  Also, they are preparing to swim 50s of all the strokes (back, breast, fly, free) in meets, the 100 free, and 100 IM.  Swimmers will have 60 minutes in the water 3 days a week and will also have up to 30 minutes of dryland each of those days.

Required Equipment: Kick board and fins.

Silver Level Group:

Description: To be eligible for Silver swimmers MUST be able to complete a 100-yard freestyle on 2:00 with flipturns, 1x50 back @ 1:00 with flipturns, 1x50 breast @ 1:10, and a legal 25 butterfly.  Understand that legally does NOT mean perfect, we will continue to further critique and refine the swimmers’ strokes while trying to prepare them for the next training level.  Silver swimmers are preparing to swim 100s of back, breast, and free, the 50 fly, 200 free and 200 IM, as well as attempt the 500 free.  In addition, swimmers should try to complete either the IMR and/or IMX Challenge.  Swimmers will also have up to 30 minutes of dryland 5 days a week.

Required Equipment: Kick board, fins, and pull buoy.

Practice Times: Vary depending on site

Gold Level Group:

Description: To be eligible for Gold, swimmers must be able to complete 8x100 IM on 2:00 followed immediately by 6x50 free kick on a board on 1:10. We are looking for consistency throughout the entire set.  A swimmer must maintain legal stroke technique to advance.  We want to ensure that the swimmer has not only the endurance to handle the rigors of Gold but also that their stroke(s) do NOT deteriorate as the set goes on.  Proper stroke technique is critical when starting to build endurance.  Gold swimmers are preparing to swim 200s of all the strokes, 500 free, and 400 IM, as well as attempt the longer distances as recommended by the Gold coaches. In addition, swimmers should try to complete the IMX Challenge.  Swimmers will also have up to 30 minutes of dryland 5 days a week.

Required Equipment: Kick board, fins, pull buoy, and Finis Snorkel in a mesh swim bag.

Practice Times: Will vary depending on site but typically 5 days a week at 90 minutes in the water

Junior Team:

Description: To be eligible for Gold swimmers must be able to complete 3x200 IM on 3:30, 4x50 free kick on 1:05, 3x200 free on 3:00 and 4x50 free kick on 1:00.  We are looking for consistency throughout the entire set.  A swimmer must be legal in all strokes.  We want to ensure that the swimmer has not only the endurance to cope with the rigors of Junior but also that their stroke(s) do NOT deteriorate as the set goes on.  Proper stroke technique is critical in continuing to build endurance. Constant stroke refinement is necessary for a swimmer’s success. Swimmers need to be prepared to set goals, regularly attend practice, attend dryland, and put in 100% effort at all practices. Swimmers will also have up to 45 minutes of dryland 5 days a week.

Required Equipment: Kick board, fins, pull buoy, Finis Snorkel, hand paddles, 3 tennis balls

Practice Times: Water times are 2 hours with varied start times depending on sites

Swimmers must be legal in all strokes. Swimmers must be prepared to attend practice on a regular basis, including drylands. Swimmers must be goal oriented and give 100% every day. Swimmers will be expected to compete in all events as well as compete in meets twice per month.

Required Equipment: Kick board, fins, pull buoy, Finis Snorkel, hand paddles, 3 tennis balls.

Practice Times: Water times will be 2 hours or more depending on time of the season as well as sites.

Practice times will change for the Senior Team during high school and middle school seasons

**Varsity Team:

Description:  This is essentially the same group as the Senior Team, but offers a reduced rate to account for the 4-month varsity season where the swimmers will be practicing with their High School and not with the aqua club. Swimmers not competing for their high school team are required to register for the senior group.

How it Works: Once a swimmer reaches high school they will automatically qualify for placement in the Senior Team level. Once the High School season starts, Varsity swimmers will practice with their varsity school team thus this group is simply a discounted rate of the Senior Team that reduces the cost for the 4 months that this group of swimmers will swim with their Varsity High School, and not with the Club practice times.  This group is permitted to participate in the dryland practices, practice with the Senior Group when needed (if they miss a high school practice, ect), and continue to sign up for Club meets during the varsity season period (Coach Approved).

Required Equipment: Kick board, fins, pull buoy, Finis Snorkel, hand paddles, 3 tennis balls

Practice Times: 2 hours of water and will vary on the site as well as the time of the year.

Practice times will change for the Senior Team during high school and middle school seasons
