UPCOMING PRACTICE SCHEDULE – Regular Practice Schedule for this week.

IMPORTANT MEET SIGN-UP REMINDER – When signing your swimmers up for meets, please pay close attention to qualifying time standards.  Typically, if your swimmer meets the qualifying time, their time will show up in black.  If your swimmer does not meet the qualifying time, their time will be in red.  If it is in red, they are not eligible to swim that event.  Also, please pay attention to the maximum number of entries allowed by session and total for the meet.  Entry limits are different for every meet—you can find this information in the Meet Information (located on the Meet Home page) for the particular meet you are signing up for.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM COACH NICK – The end of the short course season is just around the corner--it is at this time that families of many younger swimmers are deciding if they will continue with club swimming during the summer or just to compete for summer league teams throughout the area.  While summer league is a good starting place for young swimmers; it is very important for swimmers to continue their development at the club level throughout the summer.  This is especially true, if they have high goals within the sport.  As coaches, it is our goal to continue to develop swimmer’s abilities throughout the year; including the summer months when we transition into the Long Course season.  It is very common for swimmers to compete and train in both summer league and club swimming during the summer.  Training with the Aquahawgs during the Long Course season will give swimmers an advantage over their counterparts who do summer league only. With having access to another facility during the summer, we will have more lane space availability for all groups.  For our younger age groups, this will allow us to run swim clinics throughout the summer.

On another note, the Age Group State Meet is just around the corner.  It is extremely important to attend practices as much as possible.  In the next few weeks we will preparing and fine-tuning swimmers for a great state meet.  The more you come-- the more prepared you will be!

Super Bowl Splash – Nice job at the meet everyone!  We had many new state qualifying times and new team records set.  Results can be found on the meet home page.  Thanks again to all the volunteers that made this meet run smoothly!

AquaHawg-Shark Last Chance Meet (Feb. 15) - We have added a last chance meet to our schedule for Friday (2/15).  The meet will be co-hosted by the Aquahawgs and NWAA Swim Teams.  We realize that the meet is coming up quickly; but the coaching staff on both teams realized there was a glaring need for this event.   Swimmers will have the opportunity to achieve national and state time standards or to compete in some end of the season races.  We are strongly encouraging All Senior swimmers to compete and cheer their teammates on.  The last day to sign up is Friday, February 8.  Visit the Meet Page.

Battle for the Belt (Feb. 15-17) – Particular warm-up times and other meet information will be sent once it is received.

2019 ASI 14 & Under Championship MeetThe qualifying times and the current eligibility report are posted on the Meet Page.  All qualifiers should attend the meet.

The Evan Thomas Foundation will be hosting the fourth annual all day event "Evan’s Birthday Splash Bash” at John Brown University on Saturday, March 30, to raise funds for the foundation. The fun filled day will consist of a swimathon, underwater scavenger hunt, and lifeguard competition.

The foundation provides scholarships for swim lessons, Red Cross lifeguard certification, college scholarships, and swim team memberships. We also sponsor swim teams and support First Responders, along with providing assistance to families that have lost a loved one to drowning in paying for counseling/grief support.

If interested in supporting this event; please visit the Evan Thomas Foundation website.
