MONDAY MESSAGE 2/8/2021

The Monday Message this week is rather lengthy, as it will cover a host of topics for the remainder of the Short Course Season.

PRACTICE SCHEDULE CHANGES

  • Saturday 2/13 – All Practices are canceled due to the 6-A West Conference Championship Meets.
  • Sunday 2/14 – Senior Hawgs will have practice at the HPER from 11:00-1:15 PM.

REMAINING MEETS FOR SEASON

  • TYR LONG COURSE INVITE – The TYR Long Course Invite will be a high-level meet for our Senior Hawgs, Varsity Hawgs, and Wild Hawgs only. The deadline to register will be this Wednesday 2/10.  We will have session groupings and volunteer sign-up available on Friday 2/12. 
  • ARSI AGE-GROUP CHAMPIONSHIPS – We expect to see all qualified swimmers attend the ARSI Age-Group Championships.  The deadline to register will be Wednesday 2/17.
  • BERZERKER HEARTBREAKER – This meet was added to our meet schedule last week.  This will be a great opportunity for Rookie Hawgs, Hawgs, Boss Hawgs not participating in Age-Group State to have another short course racing opportunity to finish the season. The deadline to register is Wednesday 3/3.
  • ARSI SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS – We expect all qualified swimmers to participate in the ARSI Senior Championships.  We will be hosting this meet at the HPER.  The deadline to register is Wednesday 3/3.
  • ISCA INTERNATIONAL SENIOR CUP – The ISCA International Senior Cup will be a great opportunity for our high-level senior swimmers to compete against some of the best competition in the nation.  We would like to see all qualified swimmers compete in this meet. The deadline to register is Wednesday 3/3.

SEASON BREAKS

Swimmers will have a small break between seasons.  This is some healthy time away from the pool that allows swimmers to recharge and let their bodies recover.  All swimmers NOT competing in ARSI Senior State will go on break beginning Saturday 3/13 and will resume practice Monday 3/29.  Swimmers participating in ARSI Senior Championships will break immediately following the meet and will resume practice on Monday 3/29.

ARSI SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS MERCHANDISE

The official merchandise for ARSI Senior Champs is available on the Hawg Shop Page.  The deadline to order towels is TODAY, February 8 at 10:00 PM. T-Shirts will be available to purchase through Sunday, February 21 at 10:00 PM.

AQUAHAWGS SUPER SPLASH

Thank you so much to everyone that attended the AquaHawgs Super Splash.  We are excited about how well our swimmers performed during this meet.  Gage Johnson broke the State Record in the 200 Back, and Caden Martin Broke the State Record 50 Breast & 100 IM.

LIFEGUARD COURSE AT THE JONES CENTER

If you are interested in becoming a lifeguard, the Jones Center will be offering 3 lifeguarding classes over the next 2 months.  To register, please go to the Jones Center Website.

HAWGSTART SWIM SCHOOL

2021 HawgStart Swim School Registration is now open on our website. You can sign up for all sessions through May.  Please contact our HawgStart Director, Jana Olson at [email protected] with any questions about the HawgStart Program.

JONES CENTER REQUESTS

CHECK-IN BARCODES – Swimmers should be scanning their barcode at the service desk before entering the pool area.  If your swimmer does not have a barcode, they need to stop by the Main Front Desk at the entrance.

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP – If you are dropping off or picking up your child at the Jones Center, please use the front of the Jones Center by the bus stop.  We have several people that are parking for long periods of time while waiting on their swimmers.  Attached, you will find a map of the area discussed.

FACE COVERING – Parents, if you are staying to watch practice in the bleacher area, make sure you are wearing your face coverings at all times.

ST. JUDE’S VIRTUAL VALENTINE’S

You can send free virtual Valentine's cards to the kids at St Jude’s.  We encourage all swimmers to take a few minutes and send a Virtual Valentine’s Card to children at St. Judes.
