Band Communication App I set us up a Band app. This is a tool to help us communicate with the swimmers more efficiently. The app is similar to facebook's interface and can be accessed via a desktop or an app on your phone. The coaches can share different articles or topics on the page and the swimmers all get notified of that sharing and can go see what we posted. The app will give me a better forum to post our zoom workouts and notify swimmers that they are available....

We are starting a "Goose Chase" scavenger hunt with the team to help keep our swimmers connected. All swimmer can participate and are assigned to a team in the hopes that they can and will. The details of the events are under the events tab along with the team assignments. Hopefully everyone can participate and have fun.

Our daily dry land workout will be the same meeting id log in from here out. Info on that is below. Remember that later this week I'd like the kids to have a stretch cord, tennis ball, and light hand weights. The hand weights can be anything of similar weight such as soup cans or similar. Hello all, I'm going to start doing a daily dry land workout with the swimmers Monday- Friday at 4:00pm. These should take about an hour or so. They are specifically for our Senior and Junior groups but the Age Group swimmers can participate as well. Swimmers should have general work out attire on. Shoes are not a bad idea. In the future I would like to incorporate some things that include the use of Stretch Cords, Tennis Balls, and lights hand weights. The hand weights can be just two objects...

Dear MSST Members, The MSST Board of Directors met tonight to discuss the recent developments and how we should move forward regarding the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Our discussions included the most recent communications from USA Swimming which strongly recommended the cancelling of USA Swimming sanctioned events for the next 30 days ( https://www.usaswimming.org/news-landing-page/2020/03/12/coronavirus-(covid-19)-update ). Midnight Sun recently traveled to Tualatin Hills, Oregan for the Region XII Senior Championships. The team took five swimmers to the meet and swam two mixed relays. Overall the team scored 19 points and saw best times in 62% of the swims in the meet..Our relays finished 23rd in the 200 Freestyle Mixed Relay and 24th in the 200 Medley Mixed Relay. Midnight Sun traveled to Ketchikan this past weekend for the State Age Group Championships. While in Ketchikan our 14 swimmers managed a fourth place finish overall with 393 points, while three of our swimmers managed a top 3 high point finish individually. Additionally we had multiple first time Northwest Age Group qualifiers, Zone qualifiers, Alaska Senior Champs qualifiers, and Region XII qualifiers.
