Flagstaff Snow Sharks Swim Team and Learn to swim program (Minnow School)
We are a non-profit 501 (c) 3 Swim Team and Learn to Swim Organization. FSS competes year round at USA Swimming meets. We also offer lessons, to kids of all ages and abilities.Tax ID#86-0361714
MISSION:
To provide our community of swimmers of all levels an opportunity to realize their potential both in and out of the pool, by creating a positive environment where all swimmers feel successful. Through training excellence and constructive practice habits, with direction provided by its coaches, the Snow Sharks are committed to excellence in competition, both individually and as a team, at the highest level – regionally and nationally.
Flagstaff Snow Sharks is committed to creating an abuse-free, safe, healthy, and positive environment for all of its members through the development and implementation of Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention and Anti-Bullying policies, Safe Sport Best Practices, and Athlete Protection Training. All athletes, families, and coaches are educated on our Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP). Flagstaff Snow Sharks is committed to the safety of every athlete, coach, official, and parent.
Our team follows all USA Swimming recommended SafeSport policies to ensure that we provide a safe, healthy and positive environment for every athlete.
GOALS:
- The Snow Sharks provide professional instruction in all four competitive swim strokes.
- As a member of the Snow Sharks program, swimmers will be taught personal responsibility, accountability and sportsmanship through positive reinforcement and recognition of the individual’s pursuit towards accomplishing his or her defined goals.
- Provide a well-educated and professional coaching staff whose interest is in the development of the team and the individual swimmer.
- Coach each individual swimmer to their strengths, yet ensure competency in all four strokes.
- Promote family and community support and involvement within the swim lesson and competitive swimming programs.
- Provide opportunities for swimmers of all levels to participate in competitions and other club oriented activities.
- Through training excellence and positive practice habits, with direction provided by its coaches, the Snow Sharks are committed to excellence in competition, both individually and as a team, at the highest level – regionally and nationally.
- Creating a positive environment where excellence is inevitable.
For any successful program to reach its goals and fulfill its mission, it must have commitment from its members. That is why the Snow Sharks strongly encourage and support volunteerism within the club and within our community. Only through cooperative agreement and conjoined efforts as a group can we better our children’s lives and future.
