Guppy classes are the first level of our learn to swim program. The classes focus on water safety as well as introduce freestyle and backstroke. All classes are 30 minutes long, and the coaches are always in the water with the swimmers. 

Age range: 2-4 years old

These classes fill up quickly, so make sure to contact Coach Clare at least one month before you would like to start lessons.

To advance levels, swimmers must complete all requirements and have approval from the Minnow School Coordinator.

_____     Blow nose bubbles/ put entire face in the water

_____    Back float without assistance 

_____     Front float without assistance

_____    Use a kickboard with minimal help

_____    Jump in independently/ without holding the coach’s hand

_____    Three bob’s in a row

_____    Understand the basics of pool safety- waiting for the coach before jumping in or leaving the wall, etc 

_____    Enter and Exit the pool independently- sit and slide in and exit with elbows and knees
