UPDATED GSC COVID TRAVEL POLICY

'GSC has updated its COVID-19 Travel Policy.  The majority of GSC members are unvaccinated and continue to pose an increased risk for contamination. Although not REQUIRED by CBJ or SOA, until further notice GSC has decided to follow ALL CBJ RECOMMENDATIONS and ADVISORIES for testing after out of state travel, which can be found here:

The current CBJ Advisory refers to the SOA COVID Response and Recovery Health Advisory No.2 Optional Testing Protocol (Updated 4/26/2001), which can be found here:

FULLY VACCINATED GSC members (defined as more than two weeks following receipt of the second dose in a two-dose series, or more than two weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine) are not required to test after travel and can return to GSC immediately as long as they are asymptomatic.

UNVACCINATED GSC members returning from out of state travel they must follow one of the options listed:
  1. The traveller may choose to submit negative test results from a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure into the Alaska Travel Portal or have proof of a negative test available while traveling.  A second test is recommended, but optional, 5 to 14 days after arrival.
  2. The traveller may receive a COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival, and can return to GSC once a negative test result is received.  Again, a second test is recommended, but optional, 5 to 14 days after arrival.
  3. If no test is taken, a traveler may return to GSC after 14 symptom free days.
Following a positive COVID-19 PCR test result, GSC members must be cleared to return by a medical provider or public health agency.  Persons testing positive for COVID-19 and cleared to return are exempted from post travel testing for 90 days following the positive test.'
