Updated COVID-19 travel policy

Glacier Swim Club will follow all local and state health mandates.  In addition, GSC members must adhere to the following policies (updated 9/29/21):

  • GSC members should only attend if they do not show any COVID-19 symptoms.
  • Close Contact: If a member has known close contact to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, if unvaccinated, they should quarantine for 10 days, or may test on day 5 and return after negative result.  Vaccinated members should closely monitor for symptoms.

  • GSC is currently not offering any ‘team travel’ or ‘team chaperone’ for swim meets.  Travel arrangements are up to individual families.  GSC will provide coaches for ‘on deck’, and directions on when to be at pool for meets.
  • All GSC members must take a test upon return to Juneau from commercial travel.
    • For non-GSC travel, non-vaccinated members must quarantine from GSC until they receive a negative test result.
    • Because GSC is its own social bubble, there is no quarantine required after travel for GSC swim competitions (regardless of vaccination status), but coaches will do their best to keep travel swimmers isolated from the non-travel swimmers for up to 5 days following travel.

  • Swimmers may test at airport upon return, or at their schools if part of weekly testing, or any other testing options.  Test should be administered within 5 days of return.
  • GSC does not need proof of test.  We are still on the honor system.
