PHASE 1 Practice Schedule for May 26-30

Jessica Rudd

MAC Families,

We are excited to have our schedule for the week of May 26-May 30. MAC  coaches  have been working closely with USA Swimming and the City of Mesa to prepare for a safe return to the pool.  We will be hosting a mandatory Zoom call for all our athletes on Monday afternoon to review protocol for entering, and exiting the pool as well as new practice procedures.  In addition, we will offer a Zoom call to parents to answer any questions or concerns you may have (links will be sent out later this week)  .  We take the health and safety of your children and our coaches very seriously and we believe we have a plan to ensure best practices to move forward.

Throughout the summer we will be able to swim at Skyline and Kino - with some of the best space for any swim team in the country. The first week back all sessions will be at Skyline as this allows the city of Mesa time to make sure both facilities are ready. We truly appreciate the effort made by our wonderful city!

Linked here is  a practice schedule for next week, so you have time to plan and prepare.  Tomorrow we will be sending out a second document that includes  the precautions we are taking and that we expect from our families to best  ensure a safe return to practice.

All practices between the dates of May 26 and May 30 will be at Skyline. Beginning on June 1 we will have practices at both Kino and Skyline.

We anticipate having a 3 phase return to the pool.  Phase 1 will begin on May 26.  Practices are designed to start everyone back safely and we will swim most sessions with  two athletes per lane.  During phase 1 we will have all athletes swim in the same groups in which they were training with this past short course season.

Phase 2 will begin on June 1.  We will have access to Kino and Skyline.  Practice times and number of practices will increase steadily as our swimmers adapt.  Our new group structure will begin and athletes will continue to swim 2 people per lane, starting from opposite sides of the pool.

Phase 3 : Will include a continuation of our safe, physical distancing with an increased practice schedule. We are looking forward to getting to this phase as we believe we can do some great things this season and we feel we have a true advantage over much of the swimming world with our facilities and coaches.

Regular billing will return on June 1. The seasonal registration fee that is normally billed in April and is traditionally $50 will be prorated to $25 and it will be billed in June.

We look forward to seeing everyone next week

Have a wonderful memorial day,
