Splish

The Splish Group is our initial entry classes to the team and are offered to kids 4 years and older.
There are three criteria for entrance to this class:
First, the child must be mature enough to understand that Splish is a class and not playtime.
Second, the swimmer must be at least four years of age. The average Splish Swimmer is usually 5-7 years old.
Third, we expect Splishers to be comfortable in the water, they can be independent in the water and prepared to swim freestyle.

In the Splish Group Swimmers will swim and learn to improve their freestyle and backstroke.

Splish classes swim in the shallow end of the pool. There are 2 practice sessions per week. Swimmers will use kickboards and fins that will be provided. Swimmers should bring swim goggles.

Splash
The Splash Group is meant for swimmers ages 6-10 who can swim 50 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke with good basic technique.

Learning proper technique in all four strokes is the primary objective in this group. All Four Strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle) will be taught and the basics of turns will be taught in Splash.

Splash classes swim in the shallow end of the pool. There are 2 practice sessions per week. Swimmers will use kickboards and fins that will be provided. Swimmers should bring swim goggles.

Mesa Aquatics Club Splish and Splash Policies

Closed Deck - MAC has a closed deck  policy. For the purposes of the safety of the swimmer, coach, and parent, the time of the lessons. Practices should be free and clear of distractions, for optimal benefit.  This policy also allows coaches to give all the attention to the athletes and allows the athletes to stay focused on the task at hand. Parents, small children, and swimmers not in session are able to sit in the shaded bleachers or snack bar area, designated for spectators.

Payment- All fees are due prior to starting the first lesson of the session.

Make Up Lessons-  The session dates will be available a week before each session begins.  Please look carefully at your calendar to see if you can dedicate yourself to those dates. Due to pool time and limited class sizes, there are no make up lessons.

Full Sessions only-   There are 6 x 30 minute lessons in each 3 week session.  The cost of those 6 lessons is $48. Even if you are only able to make it to 4 lessons, the cost is still $48.  This allows us to keep our classes full and teach as many swimmers as possible.

Photo Policy- Mesa Aquatics Club may take pictures of members to use on club social media and the Team Unify website.

Advancing-  The level of a swimmer is determined by an evaluation of a coach.  After being assigned to that level, it is important to meet the milestones of that level  before moving up to other groups. This allows coaches to keep swimmers of similar abilities in  cohesive groups; making the most of our time in the water.
